How to Help

Our two basic priorities are:

  1. Advocating for measures to amend the Local Control Funding Formula to account for regional differences in the cost of hiring and retaining teachers and other school staff.
  2. Advocating for efforts to increase the base grant for every LCFF-funded school district.

How to Help:

Write to your state legislators to share your concerns about school funding. For a template to help you explain your concerns, visit our Sample Letters page.

Sign and share this petition from Full and Fair Funding asking our state legislature to raise school funding to the average of the top ten states by 2025.

Join the imPACT campaign created by Educate Our State, an effort to include regional cost of living differences in the Local Control Funding Formula.

Get involved at the local level by attending a School Board meeting to learn more about funding challenges, becoming a member of your local Education Foundation (if there is one), and sharing your concerns about school funding with other parents. For Pacificans, here is a link to the Pacifica School District web site and the Pacifica Education Foundation, a volunteer-run nonprofit that funds programs at all of the local K-8 public schools through donations and grants.
